York Open Studios

2/3 and 9/10 April 2022 10am – 5pm

I am pleased to be exhibiting as part of the York Open Studios event this year. It has been a couple of years since hosting this from home and have mostly new work on show.

As well as paintings there are quite a few drawings this year. Most are inspired by trips to the North Yorkshire countryside and beyond. Despite many lockdowns I have managed to travel a bit and enjoy the diversity of our landscapes

This is a drawing from Devon done on duralar. It is 5 x 7 inches and available in limited edition prints.
This is a larger painted canvas 90x 70cm inspired by the open stretches of beaches on the Lincolnshire coast

I see this collection of work as a coming together of the elemental forces, landscape, emotional connections to these and my responses to the chosen media.

The work ranges from highly representational with strict adherence to conventional aesthetic to much more abstract and visceral responses.

Wild Side
Hedgerows and gateways are lovely textural places for inspiration.

Please come and see the artwork or drop in to see me do a demonstration each Saturday at 2pm lasting 20 minutes or so.

My open studios page includes address details.
